Contribute Ray Rice salary towards Domestic Abuse shelters

Contribute Ray Rice salary towards Domestic Abuse shelters
The Issue
Dear NFL Commissioner and Baltimore Ravens President, Owner, and Communications Director:
We realize that you have changed your policy on domestic violence, demonstrating your commitment to end domestic violence. We understand that the NNEDV (National Network to End Domestic Violence) has a petition out to ask you, the NFL, to harness your power by asking each team to wear purple during the month of October to reinforce your commitment and raise awareness about this important cause. However, we are asking you to put your money where your mouth is, because Purple is Not Enough.
We realize that the NFL is a prodigious part of our American culture. Salaries for players are enormous. This is a result of our amazing, wonderful and incredible free market in our blessed USA. Please consider, however, that with great power and influence comes even greater responsibility.
Instead of pouring money into lawyers, advertising, and public relations campaigns that support the NFL, would you please consider directing some of your funds into some of the domestic abuse shelters around the country? We believe the Baltimore-area would be a good community to start with. We would love for you to consider contributing the entire salary that was intended for Ray Rice towards such an initiative.
Money is needed to support domestic abuse victims DIRECTLY. Local abuse shelters are in need. Please consider partnering with such a plan.
