Baltimore County police officer convicted of rape sentenced to home detention.  

This headline from WBAL11 (Online article Linked at bottom) is one of the most sickening pieces of news that I have ever read.  Until I read the article itself, and the detestable attitude of "Honorable" Judge Keith Truffer in regards to the trauma suffered by rape victims.  Judge Truffer apparently decided to throw out one of the rape convictions he handed down in August and stated there was no evidence of any psychological injury to the victim.  Is he stating the woman who was victimized wasn't damaged enough to count?  This sends a horrific message to victims that coming forward not only leads to reliving a traumatizing event, but to have the event deemed true, but not be traumatizing enough to require an actual punishment for the convicted.  Judge Truffer has clearly demonstrated he is not fit to be in his position.  Either he can not remove a bias in favor of police officers, or a bias against women, either way it's UNACCEPTABLE.  This petition is to have him relieved of his duties, before he can harm more women.  Everyone is entitled to their day in court, and to be innocent until proven guilty.  However, once found guilty the punishment must fit the crime, and this clearly does not.
