The Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks, in conjunction with the Baltimore City Health Department, have proposed to create both a loop road and build three new parking areas/lots along it that would create approximately 96 parking spaces in the Park. The two departments claim it is needed to expand services at the "Casino" building (aka the Latrobe House) and the Virginia Baker Recreation Center.

Creating this road with parking would reduce the amount of green space in the park, and increase vehicular traffic, thereby potentially reducing the safety of pedestrians in the park.

We believe that there should be no new road or parking spaces in the park and ask that the Department of Recreation and Parks and the Health Department withdraw this plan. In essence: PROTECT PATTERSON PARK -NO MORE CARS, NO MORE PARKING, NO MORE PAVING!
