Imagine living your entire life on the end of a 5 foot chain tied around your neck so tightly that a human finger cannot even fit in-between it. Imagine drinking dirty water (when there is water to be had) from a moldy bowl and only being fed sporadically by an owner who could not care less about you. This poor animal has been living exactly like this for who knows how long. He is emaciated and his hair is falling off revealing what is obviously mange as well as various fleas, ticks and scabs covering his body. In addition to this, his entire body is covered in motor oil as a result of some sort of cruel abuse. In addition to all of this, he is seriously sick and constantly defecating. His only shelter is an old, dirty dog house that he cannot even fit into. There are also other dogs living under the care of these individuals. One of which is chained up inside a 5x4 ft gate-enclosed area with very little shade, food or water. When food was brought to the animals the first time this property was being checked out, he nearly hung himself trying to jump out of the enclosure to get to it. Various other dogs roam the property or are chained to trees. 

It is evident that these dogs, especially the emaciated one on the chain, are living in horrifying, stressful and unhealthy conditions. However, when the animal control officer went to inspect the property after nearly a year of receiving complaints, she claimed that there was nothing wrong with these living conditions due to the fact that (that day) the dogs had food and water. She also added that the reason the black dog on the chain was so greasy is because "he is old". The dog is only around 8 years old, he is not old and still has many years left to live, preferably in a happy and safe home free of abusive owners who pour motor oil on him.

This animal and all of the animals under care of these individuals should be immediately taken out of their care. It is evident that if the black dog on the chain is left in their care, he will most likely not live very much longer due to his many maladies. As far as the other animals go, it is only inevitable that they end up just like this poor, chained up, emaciated dog. For that reason, we demand that the animal control of Baldwin County re-assess the situation and remove the animals from the owners' care. It is only right to give these dogs a chance at living a wonderful life.
