Stop Baker's Delight throwing out its leftover bread

The issue

Baker's Delight says its "bakeries donate any product left at the end of the day to local charities and community groups making sure fresh bread goes to the folks that really need it". But many of its stores don't actually do this. Instead, employees put left over bread in garbage bins. They don't encourage passers-by to take it or give it to homeless on the same street!

Baker's delight also says "when it comes to the environment, we’re for real" and that they "make sure we’re as environmentally sustainable as possible". Throwing away thousands of loaves a day is wasting flour, yeast and water, as well as contributing to harmful greenhouse gasses at our garbage dumps.

Let's stop this outrageous waste and force Baker's Delight to honour its public commitments! Let's put the surplus bread to good use by feeding the homeless or discount the bread heavily for pensioners, students and the unemployed.

Baker's Delight doesn't have to be financially disadvantaged: If someone will buy it for a reduced price, it's better for the company than throwing it away for free!
