Every day, people are forced to wait, sometimes weeks, for critical care or medications because of a broken insurance process called prior authorization.

It’s a system that delays cancer treatment, blocks surgeries, and denies life-saving prescriptions, all while patients suffer.

Now, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says insurers have promised to finally fix it. We’ve heard these promises before—and too often, nothing changes.

This time must be different.

That means:

• No more delays for essential, routine care
• Clear reasons for denials—and help appealing them
• Prior approvals must carry over when switching plans
• Fast, online decisions reviewed by real doctors

Prior authorization has caused irreversible harm, and in some cases, it's cost lives.

Kennedy says change is coming. We must make sure it actually does.
