Shocking news that there are architect plans for a new housing estate of 32 'executive' houses and a handful of housing association flats and small houses on the green fields between Walnut Tree Farm and Lings Lane in Chelmondiston. The plans were shown to the Parish Council planning committee on Tuesday 6th June before they submit a full planning application.  This is a beautiful landscape and a 'greenfield' site.  We need to act now so the developers understand the strength of local feeling against a new housing estate on the edge of the village. The Parish Council has already identified other better sites in the village for the affordable housing association homes our villagers need.

Please reject the plans when they are put forward by the developers  - this is not part of our Local Plan. With plans already in place for 285 new homes at Shotley Gate, 150 at Shotley Marina and 78 more at Holbrook, this new estate is completely unnecessary and would ruin our beautiful small Suffolk village.
