As my followers may be blatantly aware it’s been over a year since the by-law department has asked me to remove my hens. Numerous newspaper, magazine articles, Television spots, Radio spots, Social Media, and an ongoing petition have yet to bring anything other than enable now a divided council on moving forward with back yard hens. I have asked members to bring forward a motion. Not many want to make a motion without a seconder to start the process for a change. I’d like to rally as many people to attend next council meeting to express concern to council members to bring forward a motion to actually start a process. I would especially welcome anyone here in North Bay who’d like to have back yard chickens. I’d be content with any form of reaction from city council. Airdrie Alberta has recently started a trial to allow select residents to have a trial period. Orillia City Council has had their trial in for a number of months. I have asked Airdrie to send information to council members. I am hoping to draw attention to another city who’s proactively moving forward allowing constituents to have Back Yard Hens. I will be resubmitting a 5 minute dissertation to bring attention to Airdries most recent achievement!
