B&Q: green your gardens!

The Issue

With 300 stores in the UK, B&Q sells thousands of plants, pots and peat each year: Imagine if B&Q went green!

How Britons garden is influenced by what is easy, cheap, and accessible, and what comes out of B&Q is responsible for what goes in Britain's gardens.

Dissapointingly, B&Qs pots are plastic, and their compost (both in the plants and bags) uses peat - obtained by destroying peat bogs or cutting down rainforests.

To become green, B&Q must:

1. Replace new pots and trays with biodegradable and sustainable ones, or allow customers to bring in their used plastic pots/trays for re-use;

2. Commit to reducing peat use and sales to 0% by 2025.
