David Ball started this petition to The Mayor of Bristol - Marvin Rees

Bristol's air quality is illegally bad and Baldwin St was one of the worst affected streets in Bristol. This is a public health emergency and the BCC has been ordered to bring the air we breathe within safe limits by the courts and the government.

The worldwide climate emergency is one of the defining issues of our time and transportation by private motor vehicles is a major contributor to this problem.

The closure of the Bristol bridge to most car traffic, and the ongoing effort to pedestrianise the city centre are a step in the right direction and will make Bristol a greener, healthier more livable city.

Sign this petition if you believe the Mayor should keep the Bristol bridge closed to private car traffic, maintain the pedestrianisation plans and actively pursue greater and more substantial projects to improve Bristol's health and its carbon footprint.
