Black Bears in B.C. are being killed at an alarming rate. In September 2021 162 Black Bears have been killed in B.C.  This is outrageous. I agree that people are at fault for not being more responsible for bear attractants, however I have yet to hear of a beat attacking a person or pet for that matter. The bears only care about finding food to eat and they are being killed for that. I am glad that people are being fined for feeding bears and think more fines should be given for people not hiding garbage until pick up day or for letting other attractants in their yard available for the bears. We need to fight for these bears. No animal should be destroyed for walking around getting food without injuring anyone.
