Petition updateB.A.N. the Gateway Proposal across from Bridgehampton Commons -B.A.N. Supporters Need your help to win
B.A.N. Gateway (Bridgehampton Action Now)
Mar 7, 2016
Dear Bridgehampton Action Now (B.A.N.) Supporters,
We have won the first battle with the B.A.N. petition and letters sent to the Town Board. The huge outpouring of signatures and comments on the Petition provide evidence to the new Town Board that our East End community is adamantly against the SH Town PDD Gateway Proposal. B.A.N. Petition Comments such as:
……..“There is no reason for a PDD here. We have zoning regulations intended to protect our hamlet from massive development. A PDD is just an excuse to skirt the rules.”
……..“Our area can not support more business year round and we do not need any more high-end businesses and restaurants that close up for half the year- the road there is already bottlenecked”
……“Perhaps the Town could work with Ms. Konner to build a Kellis Pond Park… with open green space with community events.”
…….“ There is too much traffic already. It is dangerous crossing streets and this will add to more deaths and accidents due to more traffic.
…….“This is environmentally dangerous to our community, displacement of animals, bird feeding and the effect it has on our tree pollination, water streams and total disruption of our Eco system!
In order for us to STOP this proposal by the Town of Southampton PDD’s Gateway, designed by former Town Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst, Kylie Collins, Town Planner, of Gateway and developer, Konner, Inc., we need your contribution to help pay for attorney, environmental engineer and traffic engineer fees. These fees can add up to $75,000+.
The Town has postponed the next hearing to April 26th giving us more time to prove the danger of the Gateway Proposal to our precious hamlet with heavy emphasis on Environmental and traffic issues.
This can only be done with contributions.
We have supporters contributing the following (Birds of Kellis Pond):
$250 Mallard Duck
$750 Egret
$1,500 Osprey
$2,500+ Blue Heron
We appreciate your contribution. Without your help, Bridgehampton will be lost forever. Ask your neighbors to send a contribution. Letters to the Town Clerk and Town Board (cc: baverbitsky@gmail.com) are very important.
Please send your contribution to Bonnie Verbitsky/B.A.N. P.O. Box 3017, Bridgehampton, N.Y. 11932. Thank you for your support.
Bonnie Verbitsky
President B.A.N.
