Why this petition matters

Started by Alistair Darby

For several years, residents of the Hawkslade area in Aylesbury have put up with clear anti-social behaviour from people quite clearly dealing drugs outside the Orwell Drive Co-op and Hawkslade community centre. This happens throughout the day in broad daylight, and continues into the early hours with cars packed with people pulling up and making a lot of noise whilst revving their engines, smoking, and drinking, and we, the people of Hawkslade have had enough.

We want something done about it. Be it CCTV, on foot police officers making hourly sweeps, or police car drive-bys to deter anyone from misbehaving and using it as their own personal dealings spot. We don’t care who does it but something needs to be done.

It makes the place unpleasant to live, and we don’t feel safe in our own neighbourhood, concerned that approaching them will result in physical harm.

So, we want the AVDC, the stoke Mandeville parish council, the Thames Valley Police, and the co-op, to find a way to stop this from making a would be nice area, feel like a dangerous place to live.
