JAIL THE ACCUSED OF CHENNAI DOG DROPPING CASE.

The Issue

On July 4th 2016, a video of a man throwing a dog from terrace came into light. Video source:- http://beingindian.com/news/man-dropped-dog-from-terrace/?utm_source=fb&utm_medium=pg&utm_campaign=bifront After the video went viral, two men Anthony and Shravan immediately lodged a police complaint against them with the Chennai city police commissioner by providing them with video evidences. The police commissioner ordered for a quick action on the complaint and took the help of the Cyber Crime Police and identified the two culprits. Gautam Sudarshan and Asish Paul, are both final year medical students of Madha Medical College, Kundrathur, Chennai. Later the video of the dog being alive was put up by a animal activist Harrish Iyer. Everyone was glad but the sad part is she was still wagging her tail after going through all that pain. video source:- http://beingindian.com/bi-videos/watch-dog-thrown-off-terrace-alive-found-video-will-break-heart/?utm_source=fb&utm_medium=pg&utm_campaign=bifront You would probably be thinking that what happened to those criminals. Were they jailed? Prepare yourself to listen the truth. They were almost immediately let go off on a bail after being caught. Yes you read it right. And you know for how much amount the bail is given? Read yourself, If convicted under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 (PCA), the accused would be fined ₹50 (0.80 USD) Many are even fined ₹10 (0.15 USD). Are they kidding us?? Only ₹50 is the cost of a life of a living being according to our government. People are becoming evil day by day towards animals and what are we doing? NOTHING. But enough is enough. It's the time we should do something about the small creatures who can't speak for themselves. Please sign and share this petition if you think Gautam Sudarshan and Asish Paul should be jailed for their heinous crime and there should be strict laws for animal abusers to prevent such crimes in future. Your single sign can do a lot to contribute to this cause. At last, I quote Jeremy Bentham:- "The question is not, "Can they reason?" nor, "Can they talk?" but rather, "Can they suffer?" Thank you. :)
