Kiki LaGrange started this petition to Away Employees

As with any start up, there are long nights, working overtime, and growing pains. For Away employees, CEO Steph Korey, as well as the entire leadership team, added to the difficult work environment by manipulating employees and publicly berating them.

Thanks to the The Verge's expose on Away, employees are beginning to speak up about the toxicity of the culture. Emotional abuse was rampant throughout the company with abusive Slack messages, name calling, threatening vacation days, and unpaid overtime. When employees said they felt overworked or felt that their mental health suffered, managers were required to take employees to HR, where they were questioned on whether the role "was still the right fit". If it wasn't – they were fired.

CEO Steph Korey apologized for her behavior — just as leadership clamped down on employee speech. In a leaked memo, Away leadership requested that employees not speak about the The Verge article at work or on personal devices. Korey's attempt to police employee's private social media accounts shows a sincere lack of understanding in her behavior. Her request to keep employees silent only adds to a fearful work environment.

Employees are calling for the resignation of Away's CEO Steph Korey for her behavior towards her employees and her ongoing neglect of inappropriate leadership behavior. I hope this anonymous petition will allow both Away employees and Away customers to communicate their frustration about this disappointing behavior.
