The Issue

My father was unjustly deported after being held in ICE detention at Broadview for just four days. According to his testimony after talking to him now that he is safely in Mexico he describes during his stay, he witnessed appalling conditions that no human should endure. People around him struggled to breathe, and the environment was nothing short of inhumane. Many were signing voluntary departure papers just to escape the terrible situation. Fights broke out, detainees became delirious and hallucinated, and people were fainting, with some requiring hospitalization due to the lack of proper care. This is not what America stands for.

The way ICE detention centers are being run is a violation of basic human rights and dignity. My father, along with many others, was pressured into leaving the country under the pretense of having no rights. He was kept in cramped spaces and emotionally manipulated. Contrary to what ICE agents told him, his status could have been resolved. Our lawyer filed a motion, which was accepted, yet my father was kept in the dark about his options. He signed under duress, and this is unfair.

These inhumane conditions and psychological tactics are unjust and must be stopped immediately. The Trump administration and ICE need to allow independent supervision in these facilities to ensure that detainees are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve. Transparency and accountability are crucial to preventing such abuses of power, and all detainees should be informed of their rights and legal options.

This situation not only impacts my father but countless other families who are torn apart due to the cruelty exhibited in these centers. We must stand together to advocate for immigrant rights and force those in power to make critical changes.

Please join me in demanding supervision, transparency, and the humane treatment of all individuals in ICE custody by signing this petition. Your signature can help bring about the change these individuals desperately need. EVERYONE deserves due process in America.

Let us use our voices to force the Trump Administration and ICE to allow our congressmen and women, senators to be allowed in ICE facilities to overview operations.
