Thomas Sowell has made many meritorious contributions to American culture, economics, and education.  He should be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his commitment to making the United States a better place.  He received the National Humanities Medal from president Bush in 2002, and it is time for his lifetime of achievements to receive the highest honor.  This should be done during his lifetime.  Sowell is a nonagenarian, and therefore this is an urgent matter.
