Award Milli Vanilli all royalty rights- Justice for Rob Pilatus & Fab Morvan

The Issue

Growing up, Milli Vanilli was a huge part of my life. Their music played in the background of so many memories — joyful, vibrant, and unforgettable. When the infamous lip-syncing scandal broke, everything fell apart. But it wasn’t the masterminds behind the deception who suffered most — it was Rob Pilatus and Fab Morvan.

They became scapegoats for an entire industry’s deception, enduring immense pain, humiliation, and loss. What many don’t realize is that both men were given a chance to walk away from the situation — but doing so would have meant repaying every cent of the money that had already been advanced to them. They simply didn’t have the means to do that. It’s important to put yourself in their shoes: most people, faced with the same impossible choice, would have gone along with it too. By that point, they were already in too deep.
The tragedy didn’t just destroy their careers — it left deep scars that affected them as human beings. Yet despite everything, their influence has continued to touch generations of listeners, many of whom have no idea what these talented performers endured.

Through documentaries and films, the story of Milli Vanilli has been reborn, reminding the world that Rob and Fab were the heartbeat of the group — their style, energy, charisma, and dedication made Milli Vanilli what it was.

They may not have sung every note, but they poured their blood, sweat, and tears into every performance, touring the world and connecting with millions of fans.

Today, lip-syncing is widely accepted in the music industry — nobody bats an eye. Yet Rob and Fab paid a price no artist should ever have to pay. They lost everything. They were shamed, silenced, and stripped of recognition — and to this day, after their downfall, they have never received a single cent in royalties from the music they helped make iconic.

Though Frank Farian, the producer who orchestrated the deception, has since passed away, the injustice remains. Someone, somewhere, continues to profit from the music associated with Milli Vanilli — but not the men whose faces, talent, and effort brought it to life. Rob Pilatus and Fab Morvan — the spirit and image of Milli Vanilli — were left with nothing. Rob is no longer with us, but his legacy deserves respect, and his family should be honored with the compensation he was denied.

It’s time to right this wrong. Music has the power to heal, unite, and inspire — but it should also serve justice. Rob and Fab deserve recognition and fair compensation for their contributions.
