In June 1989 Avon pledged to stop testing on animals and this has been sustained for over 25 years. However, it was recently revealed that in some countries such as China, which Avon sell their products in, animal testing is required by law. In these instances, Avon will attempt to persuade the requesting authority to accept in vitro (non-animal) test data. When these are unsuccessful, Avon will abide by the regulations, thus testing on Animals. In one year, less than 0.3% of products were tested on animals, but this is simply not enough. Animals testing is barbaric, in humane, and uncivilised. Chemicals, are dripped in rabbits' eyes, their fur is burnt off, innocent, defenceless animals are infected with deadly diseases. These practices are in humane, brutal and cruel. If any of these things happened to humans, there would be global outroar, yet it is considered perfectly normal for animals to be suffer these harsh, painfu deaths.
