Establish a boy's lacrosse team at Fred S. Engle Middle School
The Issue
Help Bring Boy's Lacrosse to Fred S. Engle Middle School (FSEMS)
For over a decade, boy's lacrosse has been a large part of the Avon Grove community. Each spring, over 150 athletes take part in Avon Grove Lacrosse's youth program, and players ages 6 to 14 compete against teams across Chester County. As players grow older they transition to the high school program, which has become a perennial powerhouse in PIAA Class 3A, earning a state title in 2017. Graduates of our programs have gone on to amazing post-high school careers with athletes moving on to play at schools such as Penn State, US Naval Academy, US Air Force Academy, and University of Maryland.
While our boy's youth and high school programs have enjoyed significant success, we currently do not have a boy's lacrosse team for our middle school. Our youth program provides a great opportunity for players of all abilities, but a middle school program would introduce a new level of competition and experience for our athletes and help prepare them for the transition to playing in high school.
Our goal is to establish support throughout the Avon Grove community for a boy's lacrosse program at FSEMS. Our children grow and learn through athletic competition, and when we have more opportunities locally for athletes we increase not just the skill of our athletes, but the bonds within our schools and community.
Please join us in showing your support for a boy's lacrosse program at AGIS by signing this petition! If you have never had a lacrosse player in your family or been a part of our program, we still need your support! Increased opportunities for athletic competition benefit everyone, and you never know - you may one day find yourself on the sidelines of a lacrosse field cheering on our very first AGIS team!
Sincerely,
Avon Grove Lacrosse Board of Directors
