Dolby Vision support on Yamaha 2015 receivers

0 have signed. Let’s get to 200!

Yamaha has announce that they will update the 2016 lineup with a Dolby Vision and HLG firmware, and left us 2015 owners in the dark.

Many of us have paid the premium price for a 3050, 2050 and others, just to see that the lowest end of the 2016 lineup and upwards is getting this update.

I know some people have tried to contact Yamaha, but got no straight answer.

We have now learned that Denon for example has started making a firmware update for theirs low end 2015 models like: Denon AVR-X2200W and upwards.

Dolby has now also confirmed that they no longer requires a special SoC for Dolby Vision to work. It can now be software enabled (license)

As Yamaha X50 owners, we understand that the hardware in our receivers is more than capable of supporting Dolby Vision as it only requires a much older revision of the HDMI specification; therefore, we would like an update for our receivers as well.
