AVBOB sales staff collective DEMANDS TRANSPARENCY AND FAIR REMUNERATION
The Issue
Every day, we, the Sales Staff Collective at AVBOB Johannesburg Life, dedicate ourselves to serving our clients and building the AVBOB brand with integrity and commitment. However, our efforts seem to be overshadowed by a growing sense of injustice and financial insecurity. The company’s current commission structure and salary policies are undermining our livelihoods and our dedication, compelling us to take this stand.
Currently, our commissions are subject to sudden cuts and clawbacks, which are not only disheartening but also financially destabilizing. These clawbacks occur without transparent justification and remove earnings that we rightfully deserve. Additionally, in cases where policy lapses occur, the deductions are directly taken from our pockets, further affecting our income.
Furthermore, we are deeply concerned about the practice of paying our bonuses from our reserves, which feels more like a forced saving plan rather than a reward for our hard work. To add to this, the minimum wage top-ups, intended to ensure a basic standard of living, are being treated as loans that we must repay, thus increasing our debt burdens instead of alleviating them.
These practices are not just affecting our financial stability but are also affecting morale and causing undue stress. We are not merely numbers on a spreadsheet; we are hardworking individuals striving for fairness and recognition of our efforts.
We urge AVBOB management to address these critical issues and request a formal meeting within 7 days to discuss our grievances and seek a resolution. It is imperative that we establish a system where commissions are fair, predictable, and reflective of our actual sales performance.
Additionally, we seek protection from any form of victimisation as a result of raising these concerns. Reassurances of transparency and fair treatment are crucial in maintaining trust and cooperation between the sales staff and management.
We are not seeking a confrontation, but a conversation. We believe that by speaking up now, we can foster a more equitable working environment for our current team and future sales representatives. By signing this petition, you support fairness, transparency, and dignity in our workplace. Please help us bring about this essential change by lending your voice to our cause.
