For years, electric vehicles have always received second-hand treatment in India when it comes to the naming conventions. They might be the quickest, smartest, most torquey vehicles out there, but you'll still see them described as an 'electric vehicle' or an 'electric scooter'. We don't see any articles about 'Internal Combustion Engine' motorbikes or 'Petrol' scooters. Why this discrimination against electrics?

Our petition is directed towards anyone who writes about, talks about or discusses the electric vehicle ecosystem in India (journalists, publications, bloggers, automobile influencers, petrol heads). We want India to #NormaliseElectric by requiring everyone who is talking about non-electric vehicles (2W, 3W or 4W) to use the qualifier 'Petrol' in front of the product name.
