I was a late diagnosis of aspergers ( known as Asd (c) and adhd. In 2017 age 31 & age 34 2021. As person who is autistic and with mild autism. The outdated terms are harmful. Being mild means you're alright apparently. And its goes on high or low needs support. Or the said outdated terms that stop you getting help. Every autistic is different from traits ( its an exhaustive list). Prior to 2017 of getting my diagnosis I went to my local authority and it went against me. Because my autism was mild. Also having an unqualified social workers or them more interested in my money and outgoings and not my needs. It took 2 assessments of care package and a fight of 4 years. Even help from an mp but that never helped and it went quiet and it impacted me mental health wise. Also living in a postcode lottery or the non existent support. Mild autistic folk need support. I still have none and its 2022. Things need to change. Please sign for me and others who are constantly denied services for having mild autism. This can't go on and many have ended there life due to this denied access for help and support. Being autistic and diagnosed we should all have access to services and the community. I want change and this can not go on any longer.
