8/02/2009 - On the way to the Grammys, Chris Brown repeatedly punched singer Rihanna in her face, and strangled her until she was unconscious. This physical violence against a woman is rarely exposed in the public arena, and often remains behind closed doors. Rihanna remains concerned about the consequences such a public abusive event would have for Chris Brown. He however, remains unrepentant. This is not an issue for one woman but for all women worldwide. The way we treat those who perpetrate violence abuse against women sends a direct message to young girls and those who have been abused. According to united nations, worldwide 1 in 3 girls will experience violence against her because she is female. Currently, Brown's fans remain as loyal and continue to blame the victim. Why would women expect decent treatment from those they know and love, when we don't expect the same from those in the public eye.
