Under S.53 of the Auditor-General Act, the Auditor’s findings from an investigation can’t be directly reported back to victims. However in settling claims victims acting as creditors against the Board of Trustees of Brisbane Grammar School require an immediate assessment by the Auditor to protect the interests of creditors as victims.
After careful analysis of the submitted 2016 financial accounts, it is the opinion of victims of sexual abuse that the Board of Brisbane Grammar School Trustees is not adequately accounting for the high volume of claims against the School. It is unclear at this point in time if the School’s insurers will continue to cover financial costs of making good ALL the financial losses suffered by all victims of sexual abuse. This includes a review of past settlements and the Schools refusal of the Board to refund School Fees to parents of victims at real inflation adjusted costs.
It is the opinion of victims that the final cost to Brisbane Grammar School could be as high as $50 million and possibly higher in order to adequately compensate victims for financial losses suffered and help each victim rehabilitation the lives that have been so shattered.
Significant numbers of victims who attended Brisbane Grammar School have lived in poverty, have suffered long term mental health problems and are likely to be estranged from family and loved ones. The financial cost is incalculable, but each and every victim is deserving of financial package that makes good each and every loss suffered as a direct result of Brisbane Grammar Schools lack of action in addressing a sexual predator.
Victims should have enjoyed a fulfilling and prosperous life that has been enjoyed by so many of their peers who attended Brisbane Grammar School. It is for this very reason that claims against Brisbane Grammar School will continue to escalate in value as the true cost of making good the wrongs of the past is far more than the School has so far stated in the accounts.
Victims have waited long enough.
The Bill has finally fallen due for Brisbane Grammar School to pay the compensation that is now well overdue to victims. Victims can no longer wait for the inaction by the Board of Trustees in not offering to settle each and every claim in full against the School.

In Summary :
Victims are being urged to contact Kaylene Cossart - Manager Specialist Audit Services Queensland Audit Office
Registering a claim against the assets of Brisbane Grammar School is victims response to the inaction of the School to "PayUp"
In communication clearly and simply state :
1. Total “Provable Financial Loss” incurred (excluding School Fee refund of $-------------
2. Request Refund of School Fees paid by parents or guardian with a value of $---------------------
(Victims suggest the real inflation adjusted rate of $25,000 per annum per year of attendance, as being a fair and reasonable rate at which school fees should be refunded . School fee inflation has tracked house price inflation. Therefore School Fees should be refunded by the Board of Trustees in dollar costs of what it now costs to attend Brisbane Grammar School per year.)
3. Boarding Costs Recovery claimed as $.............................
4. As a creditor to the Board of Trustees of Brisbane Grammar School I request full and immediate payment and final settlement of the sums claimed to be owed.
