There are  numerous requests that come across my various social media feeds from the Australian Red Cross Blood Service; however as an ex-pat of the UK, my blood along with thousands of others is not acceptable because of “mad cows disease”.

Whilst I realise there are other reasons why some people’s blood is not accepted the law of probability would state that a large percentage of potential UK donors would have “clean” blood.  Do not complain about something that your own policies are preventing  Australian Red Cross!

I could’ve donated 85 times since I arrived in Australia. Multiply that by the 1.1m UK immigrants in Australia (according to the ABS census 2016) and you’d solve your own problem and reduce your marketing budget substantially!!!
