As the scope of Multiple Sclerosis research continues to broaden so do our understandings regarding the many ways that the vascular system can contribute to multiple sclerosis progression. One rapidly emerging example relates to the Sunshine Factor. There is good evidence associating sunshine to vascular health by virtue of its influence on ultra violet (UV) exposure in facilitating nitric oxide release to enhance blood flow. Such associations are consistent with the increased prevalence of some disorders (including multiple sclerosis) based on distance from the equator. It is also demonstrated that increased UV exposure significantly delays MS progression. Find out more   http://www.msnetwork.org/expectations/sunshine-link.htm   Peter Sullivan and Kerri Cassidy, on behalf of Multiple Sclerosis Network of Care, Australia http://www.msnetwork.org/news/index.htm
