My wife and I were shocked to receive the unexpected news that after applying for the second time our Partner Visa, with no valid reasons, had been rejected again. We were told that Barbara is being deported and has 28 days to leave Australia, the country in which she has been living for the past 7 years, the country after all these years she calls home. We really need this decision to be reviewed and change to granted. We have built our lives and careers here in Australia. Our future is at risk right now because even with the explanations, evidence of our life and the love we have for each other it is not enough to convince the AAT that my wife should stay with me, her husband, in Australia.
With the rejection of my wife’s visa came the proposed options :
1) My wife by herself, or both of us, to live off shore for up to two years or as long as it takes for the Partner Visa to be approved.
2) I have one brother in Singapore. We could live with him.
3) We could move to Italy or Argentina where Barbara has family.
I am an Australian citizen and it is being proposed that I leave my own country and as an Australian citizen I don’t feel that my basic rights have been met.
We are contacting government officials personally by letter, those who we believe would be pertinent to our case.
We are seeking signatures in support of our desperate cause. By signing our petition you might just make a difference in helping to keep our family together.
