Every year 130,000 dogs and 60,000 cats are euthanized in shelters in Australia because there are simply not enough homes this comes at a large cost... This is due too lack of regulations for maintaining a maintainable pet population without having too kill the homeless. Every year homeless cats and dogs are put down in Australia due to overbreeding. This is also contributing to trauma in individuals who have to put these animals down. We can maintain pet population without killing the homeless with desexing and breeding regulations.
