Making Self-Defence Classes Part of the Australian School Curriculum

The issue

Knowing self defence is pretty useful. Assault is a common problem in Australia.

Unfortunately, self defence is not part of the Australian school curriculum. This needs to change.

Implementing self-defense classes into physical health & education would result in the empowerment of young people and reduce their vulnerability to assault.

There are further benefits to these classes. Self defense can also boost self-esteem, respect for others, leadership and teamwork skills.

Implementing self-defense into the curriculum is an elegant and effective solution, so why not do it?

By signing this petition, you are requesting that the Department of Education, and/or the Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority include self defence classes into the PE curriculum from prep to year 10.
