The Federal Government has released discounted airfares to assist the tourism industry, however only one destination in WA (Broome) is included compared with five destinations in Queensland and three destinations in Tasmania.

Favouring competing destinations such as Queensland and Tasmania puts local WA tourism businesses and regions at a massive disadvantage. Interstate visitors who would have come to WA will be lured away to east coast destinations instead.

The WA tourism industry calls on WA Federal Government MPs to ensure Perth and all regional airports are included in the Federal Government discount airfare scheme.
