Thank you to the approximately 70 generous and patient people who attended Bevan Potters court case today at the Southport Magistrates Court. It was an arduous day for all but especially for Bevan who was exhausted by the time the hearing ended just before 3pm. Testimonies have been heard but sentencing has been pushed out to Friday 13th February. Sentencing should be a much faster process as the Magistrate will have had a week to consider an appropriate penalty. I know that it is not possible for all to attend by showing a united front until the final decision is very important. I cannot overstate the significance of this case. While control of what is and what is not submitted for clinical trial remains in the hands of those with a vested interest in existing profitable treatments, the current situation where the fox is guarding the hen house will remain. ____________________________________________________________ IF YOU WANT TO ATTEND: 1. You can check the night before to find the number of the court in which the matter with be initially heard by checking the daily law list here: http://www.courts.qld.gov.au/__external/CourtsLawList/SouthportCourt.pdf 2. Parking: • Limited metered on-street parking • Mal Burke Car Park in Hicks Streets (coins or cards) $1.80 per hour • Cloyne Road Car Park (coins or cards) $1.60 per hour • 3 hours free parking at Australia Fair shopping centre ($8 for 4 hrs etc) 3.. Arrive at least a half an hour early if you can.
