Bevan Potter’s Black Salve case, is now scheduled to be heard on next FRIDAY 6TH FEB 2015 at the Southport Magistrates Court on the Gold Coast, Queensland. We need your help -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OPTION 1 - IF YOU WANT TO ATTEND: Allowing the court to see a physical manifestation of the level of support that Black Salve has in the community is powerful. It helps the case, it supports the accused. We want you there if you can make it. Around 26 people attended this week but we can do better than THAT! 1. You can check the night before to find the number of the court in which the matter with be initially heard by checking the daily law list here: http://www.courts.qld.gov.au/__external/CourtsLawList/SouthportCourt.pdf 2. The case is expected to take under 2 hours but you will need to allow more time if you want to stay for the whole proceedings. 3. Parking: • Limited metered on-street parking • Mal Burke Car Park in Hicks Streets (coins or cards) $1.80 per hour • Cloyne Road Car Park (coins or cards) $1.60 per hour • 3 hours free parking at Australia Fair shopping centre ($8 for 4 hrs etc) 4. Arrive at least a half an hour early if you can. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OPTION 2 - IF YOU WANT TO BE A WITNESS: Bevan’s barrister is looking for people who have a compelling story about their use of the salve. If this is you and you want to possibly be chosen to appear as a witness: 1. You must complete a Statutory Declaration and have it signed by a Justice of the Peace (JP) 2. The Stat Dec should include information about your experience with the salve and the outcome of using it. Essentially it should be: I know the defendant, I bought from him, He made me better. (It is ok if you only ‘know of’ the defendant and bought the product from someone else) 4. If the area you treated was not formally diagnosed as cancerous prior to treatment, please refer to ‘the growth’ or ‘the lesion’, rather than the cancer. Describe the tumour as vividly as you can. 5. Signed and witnessed Statutory Declarations should be emailed to the instructing Solicitor, Ross Christoforou at rosschr@hotmail.com 6. Please include your contact details in your email and any other relevant information. Labelled photos of treatment before, during and after can be provided to support your stat dec. Witnesses will be selected and contacted as soon as possible. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OPTION 3- IF YOU WANT TO SUPPORT BEVAN POTTER We all know that Bevan has been charged because of fear of pharmaceutical competition and an impact on profits, not because of any damage or potential damage resulting from the sale and use of Black Salve. Help Bevan's case by: 1. Writing a letter of support for Bevan - addressed to the Presiding Magistrate and signed by you. If you are outraged, put it in the letter. All letters should be: a.
