There is a National pandemic in Australia right now & it’s not the Coronavirus, it’s Domestic Violence & every week at least one woman is killed by a current or ex partner, over half of our Police resources are taken up with attending Domestic Violence incidents & the cost to our country as a whole is massive.

As a woman who herself worked in the Policing community I never thought I would fall victim to a domestic violence abuser, I did. And it showed me one thing that is fact, domestic violence doesn’t discriminate. The same year my best friend was murdered by her boyfriend abuser, and the one thing I kept saying again & again was "we didn’t know." Because yes they both had a history of domestic violence abuse and since I escaped my abuser I have dedicated my life to helping other women & their children escape & live finally in the peace & safety we all deserve to live within the four walls we call our home.

I have spoken to literally thousands of women about what they think would have helped them not fall for their abuser in the beginning & the overwhelming response is a DV register that lists DV offenders convictions & Domestic Violence Orders. A national register that is accurate & reliable.
