My wife and I own and run a small business. My wife gets really frustrated because telemarketing companies, particularly ones trying to get us to change our phone plan, keep calling and making her busy day even more stressful.

Business owners, and small and medium business owners in particular, are tired of nuisance calls from telemarketing companies!

When you run a small business, calls from these people waste your precious time and energy. You cannot easily just hang up on them immediately because you have make sure the person on the other end of the line isn't a customer.

The Do Not Call Register was created by the Australian federal government via the Do Not Call Register Act 2006 but ACMA's donotcall.gov.au website says business numbers are ineligible to be registered.

We call on ACMA and the Australian federal parliament to amend the Do Not Call Register Act and/or current policies so that all businesses, or at the VERY LEAST small and medium businesses, can register their numbers on the Do Not Call Register and reduce the hassle and overhead of having to deal with these nuisance calls!
