Australian Federal Government - Responsible Allocation of Humanitarian Aid

The issue

To the Australian Federal Government,

We the undersigned, as a concerned group of citizens, collectively express our deep reservations regarding the recent decision by the Australian government to allocate $10 million in humanitarian aid to Gaza. While we recognise the importance of providing assistance to those in need, we firmly believe that this allocation must be reconsidered in the interest of accountability and safety.

Recent evidence has emerged, suggesting that Hamas, the Palestinian militant group, may have been involved in using water pipes for the construction of rockets. This revelation raises significant concerns about the responsible use of humanitarian aid destined for Gaza. The possibility of such aid being diverted for military purposes endangers not only the safety and security of the region but also implicates our global community.

Additionally, recent events in Sydney have witnessed supporters of Palestinian cause chanting highly offensive and dangerous slogans, including "Kill the Jews" and "Gas the Jews." These actions have sown fear and unrest on our streets and threaten the social harmony and safety of our Australian society. It is our collective duty to ensure that any aid provided by our government does not inadvertently support Hamas, or any activities that could harm Australian citizens or their allies.

Moreover, the $10 million in humanitarian aid is funded by taxpayers' money, and as such, we believe it is our right to ensure that these funds are utilized for the betterment of our society and are not inadvertently contributing to any potential harm.

In light of these concerns, we, as a collective, propose a more secure and accountable approach to providing aid to Gaza. We urge the Australian Federal Government to consider channeling this humanitarian assistance exclusively through the Israeli authorities. Such an approach would ensure a higher level of oversight, accountability, and transparency, minimizing the risk of diversion for militant purposes. By working with trusted partners, we can guarantee that our humanitarian aid reaches those in need while avoiding any unintended negative consequences.

We hereby petition the Australian Federal Government to review the decision to allocate $10 million in humanitarian aid to Gaza in light of the concerns raised by our collective and to prioritise the safety and security of Australians and their allies while maintaining a commitment to humanitarian assistance.

We thank you for your attention to this matter and look forward to a response. We are united in our call for responsible and accountable allocation of humanitarian aid.

Sincerely
