Restrict Online Retailers Exploiting Consumer Money
The issue
We would like to share our recent disappointing online purchase experience in Australia which we think as a common problem happening everywhere today.
We group of friends ordered Sunglasses with Bupa Online Opticals Australia on 30th Dec on New Year Sale, however on 8th Jan we have received a mail stating that our order cannot be fulfilled due to limited stocks.
Concerning part is that Bupa Online optical Australia is listing the same sunglasses in their online store as 'In Stock' with the original price[Not the Offer Price].
Our Questions are:
If the stocks are limited, Bupa should have prevented customers ordering by marking it as 'Out of Stock', on what basis Bupa debited our money and coming back after one week saying stocks were limited?
As a company, they should refund only if the stocks are not available but i can see the same model available in Bupa Online store for the original price now, I would like Bupa to answer how this can be treated as legitimate refund? Does this mean Bupa doesn't want to Honor the commitment they have made even if the stocks are available?
We would have spent this 300 dollars on some other New Year Offers if we would have known about this earlier, Bupa should never have debited and taken an order if stock is not there.
Now we have received a mail stating that refund will happen within 30 Business days.
We see this as a clear exploitation of consumers money.
We want some regulations to prevent consumers getting affected due to companies negligence like this.
If you are also thinking the same and want to support our petition to help curb this exploitation, please sign in.
