Guinea pigs are portrayed as disposable pets. Stop the backyard breeding, change the laws so that only same sex pigs can be housed together, allow only registered breeders, reduce the thousands of pigs ending up in rescue centres with no place to go because " the kids lost interest" or "I can't afford to take him to the vet" or "it is a cheap pet"

Desexing needs to be cheaper or subsidised and enforced. People should have to pay for a licence to breed with strict regulations.
