Joe the pigeon has travelled across the Pacific Ocean only to be put down due to Australia's strict quarantine rules.

The Australian Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment claims that: "Regardless of its origin, any domesticated bird that has not met import health status and testing requirements is not permitted to remain in Australia" & "The only possible outcome to manage the biosecurity risk is humane destruction of the bird."

I am sure I am not the only one who thinks this is ridiculous. Joe "The Legend" Pigeon deserves better. This is a petition to stop the Australian Government from killing Joe, but instead sending him back to Alabama, USA, to reunite him with his keeper.
