DEMAND that Austin Animal Center does NOT KILL BALOO

The Issue

Austin Animal Center: Don't Kill Baloo!

In June 2021, Baloo was surrendered to Austin Animal Center, the nation's largest No Kill shelter. He was quickly adopted out, but he was soon returned because the adopter was allergic. He was quickly adopted again, and again soon returned, this time because he had diarrhea. He was adopted the very same day, and this time, he was returned after biting his adopter's sister who was sitting him while his new adopter moved. Austin Animal Center then recognized the bite for what it almost certainly was: an isolated incident in reaction to a period of intense stress and physical illness.

But months later, Austin Animal Center under the management of Don Bland now plans to kill Baloo if he is not fostered, adopted, or rescued by April 28. Don Bland has indicated he wants to kill off Austin Animal Center's long stay dogs, and Baloo is one of the first.

Baloo is beloved by volunteers and many staff, and he has shown himself to be safe and loving with them. Baloo deserves a safe and loving home, and he deserves an honest effort to find that home.

Sign to tell Austin Animal Center: Don't Kill Baloo. Baloo and the other long stay dogs need help and safe placement, not the death penalty!
