Thank you to everyone that signed the petition. We are victorious and thank AUSD for accepting the grant and increasing school security. They have also mandated the presence of police on campus and at school events. We have lost a extraordinary young man who loved everyone without prejudice. He was murdered on the DVHS parking lot after attending a rival basketball game. In the parking lot was a crowd of individuals waiting to cause trouble there was no security no police no teachers, just parents and children. Our Jonathon didn’t deserve the pain he endured that night he did not deserve to be left alone he did not deserve to solely defend himself against 15 individuals one of whom murdered him. Jonathon protected his classmates friends and staff and no one can say otherwise. Why was he not protected? My heart breaks and I have cried everyday since he was murdered wondering what I could’ve done differently but the truth is I allowed my son to attend a game I assumed he was safe at, like I was when I was in high school. But he was not protected instead he was jumped and murdered. The loss of him is unbearable and as long as I am alive I will fight to ensure that our kids are safe at school, whenever they return. And that no other family or friends have to be subjected to such indolence ignorance and tragedy. We thank you for your support #LLJJ
