Deny Variances to Build on Wetland Areas
The Issue
If the developer’s plans are approved, and building on these wetlands continue, we risk a great deal to our communities around Aurora Lake:
1. Our lake is not responding to the increased runoff and nutrients coming in currently.
2. The waterways are filling in because the increased amount of water in a short amount of time.
3. Continuing on this path equals a dead lake. In this case all of our homes depreciate by 30%, even properties with no water.
4. It will cost the homeowners money to clean the water before it enters the lake.
5. Traffic through our development will increase as it becomes more of a cut through.
We ask the Aurora Commission to deny variances to build on wetlands and to stop the approval of the developer’s plans for the health of our lake and the desires of our community.
