Abolish Breed Bans in Colorado which ban Pitbulls and other related breeds.

Abolish Breed Bans in Colorado which ban Pitbulls and other related breeds.
The Issue
We believe the laws prohibiting the ownership of Pitbulls and other related breeds within the city limits of restricted cities is biased, unfair, and creates long lasting negative impacts on Pitbulls and other animals alike. By abolishing these restrictions, we would be able to foster and maintain safe city environments and protect Pitbulls from neglect, abuse, homelessness and mass euthanizations. The City of Aurora in Aurora, Colorado has been enacting a Pitbull ban for upwards of 20 years with no significant results in improving safety of people. The ban has placed a negative impact on the local animal shelter which is overrun with stray Pitbulls, surrenders and neglect cases. Pitbulls are the most euthanized dog breed along the Front Range and are being discriminated against without evidence. These animals are no more a danger to the city than any other dog breed. We believe with pressure from the general public and residents of the city, the ban can be lifted and new proposals for handling aggressive dog issues can be implemented including a better system for addressing safety while education the public and dog owners. WE CAN SAY NO TO BREED BANS!
