The Class of 2020 has been impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic. School got cancelled, the events planned were cancelled, and now, Anaheim Union High School District wants to relegate graduation to a virtual meeting.

For many of us, graduation is important. It is a rite of passage that seniors go through every year, and the seniors of 2020 refuse to be the exception. Many of our parents dreamed of seeing their children walk up stage to receive their diploma, and now school officials want to take that dream, take that rite of passage, and make it nothing more than a glamorized Zoom meeting. 

Well, the class of 2020 refuses to have their big day pushed to the wayside. Graduation has been something we've all been looking forward to since the beginning of this school year. To be clear we are not demanding that the school hold the graduation ceremony during these difficult times. We simply want them to post-pone the ceremony until things have settled down in the world enough for us to be able to gather and celebrate this important part of our senior's lives. 

Please sign this petition and get AUHSD to post-pone the ceremony for a later date, so that we can still live up to our parents dreams and our own dreams of being on that stage and receiving our diploma. This ceremony should be a time of celebration and a transition from teenager to adult. This ceremony shouldn't be just one big meme.
