On October 16, 2017, the National Court through Judge Carmen Lamela ordered unconditional imprisonment without bail for Jordi Cuixart and Jordi Sànchez, presidents of the Assamblea Nacional Catalana (Catalan National Assembly) and Òmnium Cultural, respectively. They are accused of sedition for the protests they have promoted from their respective associations. According to the Royal Academy of the Spanish Language, sedition means collective and violent uprising against authority, public order or military discipline, without reaching the seriousness of the rebellion. All the manifestations produced during these 7 years have been characterized by their absolutely peaceful character. The repression of the Spanish state has gone far enough. NOT ALLOWING TO VOTE AND HAVING POLITICAL PRISONERS IS NOT DEMOCRACY!
