Keep the Pop-up Globe!
The Pop-up Globe in Auckland has been a phenomenal success!
Over 90,000 people have experienced Shakespeare as it was meant to be. People have flown in to Auckland from around New Zealand and internationally to visit this one-of-a-kind theatre. The Pop-up Globe is an amazing educational resource and cultural experience for everyone to enjoy.
Let's keep this iconic building and make it a permanent part of the Auckland cityscape!
- Auckland Council
We are petitioning the Auckland Council to provide permanent resource consent to allow Pop-up Globe to become a continuing part of the Auckland cityscape. We have gathered nearly six-hundred signatures of supporters from around the world who are keen to see this theatre remain as a part of Auckland’s arts scene.
In Pop-up Globe’s three-month season over 80,000 people have experienced Shakespeare as it was meant to be. There have been two extensions of the season due to popular demand and people have flown in to Auckland from around New Zealand and internationally to visit this one-of-a-kind theatre.
Pop-up Globe is a world first, designed and built in New Zealand by New Zealanders and I have heard that other countries are interested in acquiring Pop-up Globe. Please keep it in New Zealand.
The Pop-up Globe is an amazing educational resource and cultural space for everyone to enjoy. It has provided many learning opportunities as well as numerous hours of enjoyment and shared experience for New Zealanders. It is something unique for Aucklanders to be proud of. And not only that, it has proven to be a great tourist attraction.
I would be happy to meet with you to discuss the benefits of Pop-up Globe and the impact it has had during its time here.
Please allow this fabulous building to become a permanent fixture for Aucklanders, New Zealanders and visitors alike to enjoy.
