Why should the Department of Justice (DOJ) be investigating Donald J. Trump now?

The House of Representatives already impeached Trump of, “incitement of insurrection” and the Senate under Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell concluded the following:

” …be in that while former officials were not eligible for impeachment or conviction, they were, and this was extremely important, still liable to be tried and punished in the ordinary tribunals of justice. Put another way in the language of today, President Trump is still liable for everything he did while he was in office as an ordinary citizen. Unless the statute of limitations is run, still liable for everything he did while he was in office. Didn’t get away with anything, yet. Yet. We have a criminal justice system in this country. We have civil litigation and former presidents are not immune from being accountable by either one.”

So why is Congress wasting time fighting with the enablers and perpetrators? This belongs in the hands of the DOJ. Members of both parties were the target of the attack on the US Capitol and the GOP had many members who aided and abetted Donald Trump’s coup attempt to overturn our election.

We need everyone who understands this, to sign and share this petition because at the very least we need to ensure that Donald Trump NEVER runs for office again.
