The next few days are our last chance to make the 5 Town Board Members aware of the continuing, overwhelming, strong opposition to the Egg Harbor Dollar General proposal for Hwy 42/Hillside Road.  We are requesting the project be denied. A decision will be made at the Town Board Meeting on Monday, March 15th at 7pm.

We are asking YOU to make 5 personal phone calls (preference) to ensure your opposition is understood by the Town Board. Leave a message if necessary. If you are unable to make calls, please send an email. These are elected officials, so it’s okay to contact them during the weekend.

Talking Points:  The Project should be denied because: (state whatever you are passionate about)

-a national chain big-box retailer does not fit the aesthetic nor the unique business type desired for the town

-a Dollar General does not preserve the rural character of the town

-this is an inappropriate location: increased traffic congestion creates a more dangerous intersection

-would negatively impact local businesses

-tourism drives the economy and tourists come to Egg Harbor/Door County for its uniqueness, natural beauty, recreation, etc.; not for a Dollar General which is available at 17,000+ other locations in the US
