As excited as we all were about the upcoming Pokémon Sun & Moon anime after the huge success of the Pokémon XY and XYZ series, I have got to say that I feel betrayed by the Pokémon Company after seeing the preview of the Pokémon Sun & Moon anime. We had finally managed to seal some excellent character development in Ash and it looked like we had taken a great step with how well he did in the Kalos League (I won't spoil it), but after seeing the preview of Sun & Moon I just want to give up entirely on this show because honestly we've gone backwards from the absolute fiasco of Black & White, which looks in comparison to Sun & Moon looks like what Star Wars: A New Hope looks like the The Phantom Menace. We have to change this, the plot doesn't look all that engaging (I think Ash has ended up going to school? If i'm correct?) and worst of all the animation style has changed from XY and XYZ's excellent animation (Ash's last two battles in the Kalos League had me an inch from the screen) to the animation equivalent of something like Spongebob Squarepants which incorporates a very lazy style of animation. I know the Pokémon anime was originally targeted at children but it's audience is growing older, according to CNBC the Pokémon seasons that are on Netflix are currently some of the most watched material Netflix has and the simple fact is there are disadvantages in 'dumbing it down' as Sun & Moon has demonstrated in the fact that it's going to lose a lot of its audience. Pokémon for a lot of us is a direct link to our childhood and I urge you now to support this petition and get the anime changed before it's too late and we end up with some sort of weird Pokémon-Regular Show frankenstein crossover forever.
